Meet Frances Browne
Acupuncturist | Chinese Medicine Practitioner | MAP Coach
Frances’s journey into natural medicine began in her twenties, while working as a computer programmer. Struggling with frequent and debilitating headaches, she was inspired to explore holistic approaches to health. This led to a complete lifestyle transformation and eventually, a career change into the world of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine.
Her studies began with Massage Therapy and Shiatsu at Nature Care College, before completing a Bachelor of Health Science in Acupuncture at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) in 2001.
While trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Frances developed a deep interest in Japanese acupuncture—inspired by her Shiatsu background. After graduating, she pursued further postgraduate studies in a range of Japanese styles, including Manaka Protocols, Kiiko Matsumoto’s Clinical Strategies, Shonishin (paediatric acupuncture), and Toyohari. Her training has taken her across Australia, Japan, and China, and she continues to deepen her knowledge through ongoing seminars and study groups.
Frances’s treatment approach is gentle, intuitive, and highly personalised. She blends the best of Traditional Chinese Medicine knowledge and Japanese acupuncture techniques, with a particular emphasis on subtle, precise, and non-invasive methods that support the body’s natural healing process.
In 2022, Frances moved with her family to the Clarence Valley, NSW, where she completed a Master’s degree in Chinese Herbal Medicine and became certified in the MAP Coaching Method—a process that supports emotional wellbeing and mindset transformation.
She has since returned to the Central Coast and is now welcoming clients at her rooms in Erina.
